Stereo Dinner Presents | Before They Were Beatles Dinner with Alan J Porter
Open to the public!
Before they were The Beatles, a pre-Fab Four John, Paul, George, (and even a bit of Ringo) were infamous for their brand of raucous, rough, hard rocking shows they performed during their residencies at Kaiserkeller Hamburg and Cavern Club Liverpool from 1960-1963.
In celebration of a night with Liverpool’s tribute “The Savage Young Beatles” on Friday, June 2, 2023 at Pershing in East Austin, be the guest of their Fab Four historian Alan J. Porter. The pop-culture writer, podcaster, and author of the acclaimed book “Before They Were Beatles'' will host an intimate three-course tasting menu dinner crafted by Chef Chris Galluccio and inspired by the amphetamine-fueled, underfed, leather-clad, sweaty, beautiful noise of the pre-Fab Four.
Porter and fans will discuss how one of the thousands of amateur schoolboy skiffle bands evolved into the beginnings of the greatest band in popular history. As he mentions on his podcast “It’s a story of hope, creativity, and exploring musical boundaries. It’s also a story of tragedy, coincidence, and at times just sheer luck.”
Alan J. Porter has served as a consultant to The Savage Young Beatles, helping to ensure historical and musical accuracy, providing careful attention to fascinating fine details that have been overlooked until now.

Each Stereo Dinner is exclusive and intimate. With only a few tickets available for a place at the table, there's not a bad seat in the house. We recommend you purchase your ticket as soon as possible. All guests must be over age 21. Tickets to dinner also include tickets to the live performance by The Savage Young Beatles immediately following this event.
Show for the evening: MEET THE SAVAGE YOUNG BEATLES!
But first meet Tom Hamilton, a multi-instrumentalist singer, songwriter, and band leader who has played all over the UK, Europe, and as far as China as a headline act with his original band 'Little Triggers'. But perhaps the most fun Tom's had of late, has been his year-long residency at the legendary Cavern Club (Liverpool, UK) where he played three times a week to thousands of adoring Beatles fans from all over the world.
Now, Tom is once again the leader of the band but this time he's standing in the towering Cuban heels of one John Winston Lennon as leader of 'The Savage Young Beatles'. TSYB recreates the raucous, rough, and hard rocking shows the pre-Fab Four were famous for performing during their Kaiserkeller Hamburg, DE and Cavern Club Liverpool, UK residencies (1960-1963) while at the incomprehensible (and illegal) average age of 18!
The Savage Young Beatles focus on this period of mop top enlightenment with musical precision, strict attention to detail, historical accuracy, ferocity, and a wild abandon that's guaranteed to incite Beatlemania in its very earliest forms! It's no wonder these four lads are being hailed as the rightful heir to the Beatles moniker, 'the greatest tearoom orchestra in the world' by all those who hear them!
TSYB gives Beatles fans young and old alike the opportunity to witness how four unsuspecting, hardworking, talented beyond belief, and very lucky young men surprised everyone (especially themselves) by becoming the biggest music and cultural sensation of the 20th century and for all foreseeable time. The Savage Young Beatles range in age from 19 to 26.
All four members are highly skilled and schooled musicians who live and love the Beatles and interpret them with reverence.
TSYB look and sound just like the young BEATLES, perform on period correct instruments, and dress in period correct black leather and (later) skinny tie attire. Their accents are real, and they attract and connect with both young and veteran Beatles fans who yearn to experience the topper most of the popper most excitement that comes with seeing and hearing the Beatles for the very first time.
Before They Were Beatles Fab Four historian, speaker, podcast creator, and author Alan J. Porter, as consultant to TSYB helps ensure historical and musical accuracy. Providing careful attention to fascinating fine details that have been overlooked until now, Alan and TSYB are guaranteed to incite early symptoms of Beatlemania in Fab Four fans of all ages!
After TSYB’s performance, you are invited to join Alan and the lads at their merchandise area for a free meet & greet and Q&A regarding all things Beatles.

Jam & Toast | Sunday Brunch Ft. Gus Miller Band & Ruby Dice
Tickets and information - Open to the public!
Gus Miller is a rising star in the American Roots music scene, hailing from the live music capital of the world, Austin, Texas. Gus Miller Band's unique style is rooted in the Outlaw Hippie Country vibe, drawing influences from the Cosmic Country sounds of the early 70's.
Based out of Austin, Texas, the proclaimed "live music capitol of the world," Gus Miller is making a name for himself in the Alternative Country scene. His unique style, "a laid back Outlaw Hippie Country vibe, rooted in place and attitude" as described by LA On Lock, draws influence from the Cosmic Country sounds of the early 70's (Gram Parsons, Willie Nelson, Jerry Jeff Walker). "[His style] really flows in the flavour of some tight vintage outlaw country," Independent Music Review wrote, while a recent interview with Music Mecca praises Gus' music as "reminiscent of country classics from eras of the past".
At 30years young, Miller has had the opportunity to share bills with big names like Ray Wylie Hubbard, The Wood Brothers, Jason Boland and many more. Some of his accolades include being a winning finalist in the Kerrville Folk Festival's university song writing competition and being named "Artist of the Month' by Austin Music Foundation, both of which he achieved while earning his degree at The University of Texas in Austin.
Miller's debut EP, released in November 2020, has been well-received by fans and critics alike. With a full-length record on the horizon, recording set to begin June of 2023, it's clear that Gus Miller Band is poised for big things in the years to come.
With a sound that's both authentic and timeless, Gus Miller Band is quickly making a name for themselves as one of the most promising acts in the American Roots music scene. Whether you're a die-hard country fan or simply appreciate good music, Gus Miller Band is definitely a group to keep your eyes (and ears) on

Pershing Hall Presents | Je'Texas
Tickets and information - Open to the public!
Je'Texas
je’Texas is an American rock band formed in Austin in 2020 with vocalist/guitarist Dylan Bishop, drummer Damien LLanes and bassist Gian Ortiz. je’Texas attention to story, melody/harmony, tone with lasting, pronounced, enjoyable rhythms might be reminiscent of music made circa 1969. Influenced by a wide range of genres (folk, blues, electric blues, country and western, funk, big band, classic rock, early rock and roll…)and at times with nods to Elvis Presley, Bill Haley and the Comets, the Coasters, the Beatles, Canned Heat, Diana Ross and the Supremes, their live show has been requested at many venues throughout Austin and surrounding areas. Some people call it a trip, journey or ride and thank je’Texas at the end for it. But all it is, some rolling rhythm, melodic bass made into a harmonious bush of indigenous je’Texan wildflowers. Some sweet lines of poetry put to melody by a soulful voice, with sophisticated, snarly guitar work and riffs, floating over the wildflowers like the flight of the monarch.
